Combination protection technology for scouring of existing deep-water bridge foundation

Technology introduction: this technology is applied in many reinforcement projects, solving the deep-water bridge foundation protection technical difficulties in low wholeness of single protection measure, hard accurate prediction of river-bed height change and hard under-water construction. "Three in one" protection combination system which is suitable for the bridge pile foundation protection of the sandy riverbed of inland river and the muddy riverbed at the section of estuary is formed. Aquatic automatic rough riprap-fill technology and underwater automatic connector-release accurate riprap-fill technology are realized. The construction quality inspection and evaluation standards that the deviation of riprap-fill thickness of combination protection structure is controlled in the range of "±300mm"are set, achieving the goal of "reducing the cost to increase the work effect". It will greatly improve the construction level and management level of scouring protection of pier in water in China and it especially suits for the scouring monitoring, protection measure-taking and the maintenance after protection of deep-water bridge foundation which is on service in inland river basins.

Innovations: (1) For the scouring features of deep-water bridge foundation bank which locates in the reaches of middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River, the combined scouring protection system of the deep-water bridge foundation which is on active service, "sand-cushion-leveling to transit + graded-crush-stone-paving for anti-collision + gabion mesh protection", was firstly put forward, solving the scouring protection difficulties of the deep-water bridge foundation which is on active service. This combined scouring protection system is suitable for the bridge pile foundation protection of the sandy riverbed of inland river and the muddy riverbed at the section of estuary. (2) The scouring mode and trend of bridge pile foundation riverbed, under the conditions of clear-water- scouring, are revealed systematically. It simulates the forms of scouring the riverbed at different protection systems and puts forward the construction design parameters and the simulation technology of mud and sand delamination in riverbed of the combined protection system. (3) The technology of accurate riprap-fill under deep and strong water current is put forward; Aquatic automatic rough riprap-fill equipment and underwater automatic connector-release accurate riprap-fill equipment are developed; the construction quality inspection and evaluation standards that the deviation of riprap-fill thickness of combination protection structure is controlled in the range of "±300mm"are set. 

Technical features:  (1) The combined scouring protection system of the deep-water bridge foundation which is on active service is formed. (2) The technology of accurate riprap-fill under deep and strong water current is formed. (3) Aquatic automatic rough riprap-fill equipment and underwater automatic connector-release accurate riprap-fill equipment are developed. (4) Construction quality inspection and evaluation standards of scouring protection system of the deep-water bridge foundation which is on active service are formed. 

Application casesThe research achievements are successfully applied in the following projects: Protection project of bridge pile No.3 of the main bridge of Yangtze River Highway Bridge, Tongling; Northern river bank protection project of Yangtze River Highway Bridge, Tongling.
